Free Password Management Script

If you are like me, you are affiliated with hundreds of programs… all of them having seperate usernames & passwords. I won’t even mention how much of a pain it was to juggle all of these user/pass combos in the past, from multiple locations.

Whether you have them all in a password protected spreadsheet that you carry on a thumb drive attached to your key-chain, or you have them in a plain text file just waiting to be snatched up by the wrong hands - the odds are you are juggling too.

The software development company, JMB Soft, has released a freeware “password safe” that you can install on a remote server and use to manage all of your passwords. The data is AES 256 encrypted, so that you can rest easy knowing that your data is very secure.

AES provides strong encryption and has been selected by NIST as a Federal Information Processing Standard in November 2001 (FIPS-197), and in June 2003 the U.S. Government (NSA) announced that AES is secure enough to protect classified information up to the TOP SECRET level, which is the highest security level and defined as information which would cause “exceptionally grave damage” to national security if disclosed to the public.
